The human form has long been of interest to visual artists, especially as material for self-portraits. However, in the age of the digital camera with its products readily available to social media platforms, the predominant self-portrait is the insidious "selfie," a hastily composed self-referential image. With this in mind, I've tried to create a different type of self image, one that merges foreground and background creating more of a "trace" of myself than anything else. But in creating that trace, I also hope to create something that is more longlasting than the commonplace selfie. Click on thumbnail to enlarge.
