W. Nikola-Lisa is the author of over two-dozen books. His early books reflect his experience as an elementary school teacher, and include the ever-popular Shake Dem Halloween Bones, Bein' With You This Way, and How We Are Smart. His more recent books draw on his academic background as professor emeritus at National-Louis University in Chicago, where he taught in the Graduate School of Education. These books include the award-winning The Men Who Made the Yankees, Dear Frank: Babe Ruth, the Red Sox, and the Great War, and the author's forthcoming book, From Lectern to Laboratory: How Science and Technology Changed the Face of America's Colleges.
