The human form has long been of interest to visual artists, especially as material for self portraits. However, in the age of the digital camera with its products readily available to social media platforms, the predominant self portrait is the fleeting "selfie," a hastily composed self-referential image. With this in mind, I've tried to create a different type of self image, one that merges foreground and background creating more of a "trace" of myself than anything else. But in creating that trace, I also hope to construct something that is more longlasting than the ordinary selfie. Click on thumbnail to enlarge.
