What an incredible speaker you are We are absolutely glowing this morning after having W. Nikola-Lisa present to our district Young Authors and their families last evening. What an incredible speaker you are, and we loved singing along with you. I've already spoken to the librarians about having your books posted in the library and made available for checkout right away. You are welcome back to Berkeley District 87 at any time! Thanks you for arriving early, getting to know the students and staff, and making yourself available for photos and autographs afterward. The families gave you terrific reviews! Engaging, exciting, and entertaining Thank you to W. Nikola-Lisa for his recent visit to Concord Elementary School where he performed for students K – 4. From the very first moment author, storyteller, and musician W. Nikola-Lisa began his performance Concord’s students were captivated with his books, stories, and songs. The children excitedly joined in with laughter as they sang along with him. Mr. Nikola-Lisa enthusiastically explained his thinking process and writing approach that led to his books in a way that created an excitement in the audience to become writers themselves. This author has a special talent and ability to engage his audience and make literature come to life. The children were enthralled when he led the group in chanting his book Shake Dem Halloween Bones. W. Niklola-Lisa has a unique performance that will delight any audience. Students were dancing and clapping My program hosted a literacy event for children ages 0-3. As an early childhood professional I wanted to make sure children were not over stimulated, so I talked with our presenter about the young audience and of course how distracted they can get after a couple of minutes. To the surprise of parents and staff, the young audience was so entertained with Nikola’s amazing, stunning, enthusiastic and energetic presentation that we joined the fun. Very young children were dancing, clapping and paying attention to every prop Nikola took out of his suitcase, and his presentation was breathtaking!!! I’ve always liked Nikola’s work; however seeing how he kept mobile infants and toddlers entertained for a long period of time has change my view of liking his work to admiring his talent. Thank you for such of amazing presentation. Program Manager, Ounce of Prevention - Healthy Parents & Babies, Chicago, Illinois.

You inspired kids to love reading Thank you so much for your presentations at Glen Acres. The true testament of your impact is that our kids, three months later, are still talking about you, singing your songs, and your books go out of the library as soon as they are checked back in. You inspired our kids to love reading, storytelling, and the love of all literature, not just your own. Media Specialist, Glen Acres Elementary School, Lafayette, Indiana

You had students swaying in their seats W. Nikola-Lisa presented his stories to us in a whole different way than we had experienced his books. He had an antique suitcase filled with surprises to accompany his stories. He pulled out the harmonica and played for the students, sang verses to his stories, used puppets for visuals, wore silly glasses, had the students swaying in their seats as he engaged the children in his wonderful stories....W. Nikola-Lisa’s author visit is one our students will remember! Media Specialist, Walker’s Grove Elementary, Plainfield, Illinois

You were upbeat, energizing, and engaging W. Nikola-Lisa brings text to life with music, story and theater. He captures the audience and takes them on a journey into the creation and life of his books. An exceptional children's author who hooks students into the reading and writing process. Unusually upbeat, energizing, and engaging. W. Nikola-Lisa has been a repeat visitor to our school. Principal, Oak School, Hinsdale, Illinois

Your books are all checked out Thank you so much of coming to Wichita. The students are still talking about your visit and how much fun they had. I read Summer Sun Risin’ to a PreK class this morning because they are talking about farms this week. We really looked at the book and the farm. It is a wonderful book! We also talked about what they liked about your visit. They loved the singing and just started to laugh! Your books are all checked out of the library and as soon as they come in the kids are fighting over who will get them next. District Media Specialist, Witchita Kansas Unified School District

You made reading and writing cool Thank you very much for your fantastic presentation at Holmes School. I appreciated many aspects of your visit, but the most important was that you made reading and writing ‘cool’ for our students! The kids were wonderful - as in full of wonder - throughout the entire program. The books that you shared were a perfect fit for our students, and you made the stories come alive with your singing, juggling, and harmonica playing.
